Panchayat

A Panchayat is a group of elected representatives responsible for carrying out the administrative functions of Panchayati Raj institutions. In the case of a Gram Panchayat, it is the main body that implements the decisions of the Gram Sabha and manages day-to-day administration. The main components of a Panchayat are: President: The head of the Panchayat. The President presides over meetings and supervises the overall functioning of the Panchayat. Vice President: Performs the duties of the President in the President’s absence. Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the Panchayat. Standing Committees: Committees formed to facilitate the decision-making process of the Panchayat in areas such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
